» "Golf World" recognised San Lorenzo Golf Course as the 2nd best golf course in Europe.

The ultimate pleasure

While much of the San Lorenzo Golf Course goes through typical Algarvian pinewoods, it also opens to stunning ocean views and distantmountain backdrops. A good part of San Lorenzo is virtually an extension of the surrounded natureof Ria Formosa with fairways that run alongside saltwater marshes and freshwater lagoons. This protected environment is the habitat of over 70 bird species. The impeccable maintenance of San Lorenzo as well as the careful course management are definitively user friendly.

An unforgettable round of golf

The two 9-hole groupings form a figure of 8, with the comfortable clubhouse at their centre. A round at San Lorenzo Golf Course begins with an enticing butalmost unachievable Par 5, before continuing to the three following holes along rolling, pine tree fringed fairways. It is from hole Nr. 5 however, that the most extraordinary part begins, offering wonderful views over the Atlantic Ocean. Theexquisite beauty of the Ria Formosa is intensively present at the two Par 4's, 6th and 7th, that hug the edges of the wetlands. At hole Nr. 8 San Lorenzo course turns back inland and faces the largest of its two lakes. This Par 5 is the most difficult hole, because it requires three perfect shots to reach the -virtually-island - green.
The next Par 5 are 10th and 15th (exercise of bunker dodging) and in between you will experience a serie of challenging Par 4 where your best accuracy skills will be required. San Lorenzo again turns seawards and ends with Nr. 18, a Par 4 hole, which green is surrounded by the waters of the second lake. A remarkable end to remember for ever!
