JEWELS OF THE ADRIATIC

SLOVENIA – CROATIA , 8 DAYS
 

Day 1: ARRIVAL TO LJUBLJANA – BLED (dinner)
Arrival to Ljubljana airport. Transfer to Bled, tourist center which is situated on shore of lake Bled in the middle of the Julian Alps, for check in your hotel. Dinner in hotel.  

Day 2: BLED – LJUBLJANA (breakfast, dinner)
Breakfast. In the morning drive to Bohinj valley and visit the highest waterfall in Slovenia. Setting of waterfall is spectacular. From parking lot you walk aproximately 15 minutes to waterfall. Return to Bled and afternoon guided strol along beatifull lake Bled and visit small island with church in the middle of the lake with rowing boat and the rower. Then ascend hill (10 minutes hike) and visit medieval castle and enjoy commanding view of the lake, city and mountains of Julian Alps. After tasting famous Bled Cake drive to Ljubljana through tipical Slovenian countryside. After 1 hour  drive arrival to capital of Slovenia.  We begin city tour with walk in old part of city where your local guide will  show you Opera house, Cathedral, National museum and Three Bridges Square. Then guide will take you  along river Ljubljanica which is full of bars and restaurants and you will ride funicular to Ljubljana Castle and see city from above.  Free time for shoping. Dinner.

Day 3: LJUBLJANA – POSTOJNA CAVE –  PIRAN – PORTOROZ (breakfast,  dinner)
After breakfast we drive 1 hour to Postojna cave and visit probably the most extensive caves  in Europe. This is definitely one of the highlights of the tour. Cave in which you enter by train is full of stalagnites and stalactites and other karst wonders. But the biggest atraction is Human Fish, animal which live only in this cave and nowhere else. After visiting cave short drive to Predjama Castle, situated in front of another cave which is connected to Postojna cave. Predjama Castle is considered one of the best medieval castles in Slovenia.  Then we continue drive to Slovenian Adriatic coast.  In about 1 houre drive we reach Portoroz, seaside resort. We check inn your hotel and then we take 20 minute walk along the coast to small  medieval city of Piran which is known for good fish restaurants. We will have seafood dinner in one of them. Then we return to your hotel. Overnight.

Day 4: PORTOROZ – ISTRA PENINSULA – OPATIJA (breakfast, dinner)
After breakfast we will spend beatiful and interesting day in visit to the biggest peninsula in Adriatic sea – Istra . Istra which is in Croatia has its own charme, beatiful seaside and inland cities, lush country side full of olive groves and vineyards . We will cross the border with Croatia soon after leaving hotel. We continue drive along the coast and stop to visit Rovinj – old city on small peninsula full of small and narow streets, beatifull cathedral which dominate skyline, and small shops, caffes and restaurants. Then we drive short distance to Pula, the biggest city on peninsula with long history. A walk through old part which is full or Roman remains. The best know remain is roman Amfiteather which is the best preserved theather in this part of Europe. Then we will drive to north again to fashionable riviera town of Opatija arriving at your seaside hotel in time for dinner.    

Day 5: OPATIJA  – PLITVICE – SPLIT (breakfast,  dinner)
Breakfast. Then we drive to National park Plitvice which is Unesco World Heritage Site. In Plitvice you will admire lakes and waterfalls.   See 16 lakes of crystal clear water in many colourfull shades of green, grey and blue which are linked by spectacular waterfalls. Then continue drive through scenic Croatian countryside to Split, the bigest town on Adriatic cost with history longer then 2.000 years. Dinner in hotel.

Day 6: SPLIT –  DUBROVNIK  (breakfast,  dinner)
Breakast.   In the morning tour with local guide of the Unesco world heritage site Diocletian's Palace. Visit substructions, Catherdral and the Baptistery of Split once the Temple of Jupiter… Afternoon drive along beatifull Adriatic cost to Dubrovnik.  Arrival to Pearl of the Adriatic late afternoon. Dinner in hotel.

Day 7: DUBROVNIK  - ZAGREB (breakfast, dinner)
Breakfast.  You have full day to experience the delights of this stunning medieval city. On the first day enjoy sightseeing walking tour of the main sights. Admire the Rector's Palace, the city walls, Onofrio' fountain and Franciscan and Dominican monasteries. Spend free time relaxing or exploring then lively market or perheaps enjoy lunch at seaside restaurant. Late afternoon transfer to airport and fligt to Zagreb. Arrival to capital of Croatia and transfer to hotel. Dinner.

Day 8: ZAGREB – END OF TOUR (breakfast) 
Breakfast. City tour in the morning. Zagreb is traditional medieval European city with wealth of historic monuments. Your local guide shows you the highlights including the upper and lower town, the majestic Cathedral, Archbishop's Palace, St. Marks Church and the opera house. After city tour transfer to airport and flight to your destination. End of tour.
